What’s important is that you know where you’re going. Otherwise, it’s easy to fall into following someone else’s footsteps.
Your Mom was an attorney, so you went to law school and became an attorney. Your Dad was a brilliant engineer; he encouraged you to attend Stanford’s program (just like he did) or Georgia Tech and you did. All the women in your family are teachers, stay-at-home-Moms, or administrative assistants…you didn’t challenge the pattern. Now you’re retired or very close to retiring.
